The month of December in Sunyani is mostly clear sky with average temperature of about 30 °C.

Transport

The local organizing committee has negotiated accommodation for US$60 per night for participants attending the conference at the Eusbett Hotel. Thus, no transportation will be required as the venue for the conference is also at the same hotel. Will you opt for different accommodation, we kindly ask that you arrange directly with your hotel for a shuttle service or use a local taxi, where average transportation cost 15 Ghana cedi (US$ 3).

Airport transfers

Arrangements will be made to assist international participants arriving at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra to book flight tickets from Accra to Kumasi. Depending on the date and time of arrival, the local organizing committee will assist with accommodation in Accra before a transfer to Kumasi.  Arrangements will be made to pick up participants from the Kumasi airport on arrival and on their departure. Participants are kindly requested to provide their flight details to samuel.okyere@uenr.edu.gh and komlavi.akpoti@uenr.edu.gh as soon as possible for arrangement and security purposes.

Currency

1 USD = 5.5 Ghana cedi. For conversions visit: https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/ or http://themoneyconverter.com. At the moment Eusbett Hotel only accepts physical cash. Shops accept credit cards, but the use of credit cards is relatively limited to bigger shopping centers. Money can be exchanged at the banks.

Banking and business hours

Banks: Monday to Friday: 08:00 am to 5: 00 pm / Saturdays 09:00 am – to 12:00 pm (for some banks), Banks in Sunyani include the following: Ecobank, Barclays Bank, Stanbic, Ghana Commercial Bank, Zenith Bank, Fidelity Bank, NIB, Société Générale. Shopping Centres are open every day from 08:00 am to 7:30 pm.

Business services

The Eusbett Hotel has business service centers equipped for photocopying, sending faxes as well as Internet facilities. These services will be at the participants’ own cost.  Please consult the front desk of the hotel to make the necessary arrangements.
